From: Brian Warner Date: Wed, 4 Aug 2010 07:27:41 +0000 (-0700) Subject: ShareFinder: add 10s OVERDUE timer, send new requests to replace overdue ones X-Git-Tag: allmydata-tahoe-1.8.0b2~17 X-Git-Url: https://git.rkrishnan.org/pf/content/%22news.html/-?a=commitdiff_plain;h=20847dd8768a1622a63abfc73ec0bad0d5e594ff;p=tahoe-lafs%2Ftahoe-lafs.git ShareFinder: add 10s OVERDUE timer, send new requests to replace overdue ones The fixed 10-second timer will eventually be replaced with a per-server value, calculated based on observed response times. test_hung_server.py: enhance to exercise DYHB=OVERDUE state. Split existing mutable+immutable tests into two pieces for clarity. Reenabled several tests. Deleted the now-obsolete "test_failover_during_stage_4". --- diff --git a/src/allmydata/immutable/downloader/finder.py b/src/allmydata/immutable/downloader/finder.py index 1a2a94da..9adee99c 100644 --- a/src/allmydata/immutable/downloader/finder.py +++ b/src/allmydata/immutable/downloader/finder.py @@ -3,6 +3,7 @@ import time now = time.time from foolscap.api import eventually from allmydata.util import base32, log, idlib +from twisted.internet import reactor from share import Share, CommonShare @@ -24,6 +25,8 @@ class RequestToken: self.peerid = peerid class ShareFinder: + OVERDUE_TIMEOUT = 10.0 + def __init__(self, storage_broker, verifycap, node, download_status, logparent=None, max_outstanding_requests=10): self.running = True # stopped by Share.stop, from Terminator @@ -38,6 +41,8 @@ class ShareFinder: self._commonshares = {} # shnum to CommonShare instance self.undelivered_shares = [] self.pending_requests = set() + self.overdue_requests = set() # subset of pending_requests + self.overdue_timers = {} self._storage_index = verifycap.storage_index self._si_prefix = base32.b2a_l(self._storage_index[:8], 60) @@ -64,6 +69,9 @@ class ShareFinder: def stop(self): self.running = False + while self.overdue_timers: + req,t = self.overdue_timers.popitem() + t.cancel() # called by our parent CiphertextDownloader def hungry(self): @@ -100,7 +108,8 @@ class ShareFinder: eventually(self.share_consumer.got_shares, [sh]) return -
